Can Kylie Minogue still cut it?

Back in the eighties Kylies hits like "I should be so lucky" were just manufactured hits from the factory of Stock, Aitken and Waterman. She did have a lot of succesess and her duets with Jason Donnavon were also marketted very cleverly and must have made many people very rich. Musically they were nothing special and similar to the hand full of other pop acts that were churned out of the same stable such as Sonia or Rick Astley.
Kylie seems to have matured a bit more now having gone through the cheesy pop and sex goddess stages and perhaps will have a long career ahead of her churning out more money making 'tunes'.
In the 80"s Kylie was a hero to little girls all over the country, but 20 years on will her captive audience have matured with her, or just drifted into more indie style entertainment.

Yes, that Nick Cave track was pretty good - only spoilt by the fact that Kylie Minogue was involved in the recording.

As an ex-Kylie fan I can confirm that having sung along into my hairbrush when I was ten, I've definitely drifted into the Alternative music scene. Still, her duet with Nick Cave was pretty good.
