Advantages: Quality Venue, Capdown? Need I say more?, Got an autographed shirt!

Disadvantages: Small Venue, Hot very hot, Gets too violent at times, but that sounds wussy.

In my opinion Capdown are one of the best UK ska punk (ska-core) bands, if not the best. After seeing them again at Hitchin Club 85, in an impressive, but short set, where they played new songs, one named "ponce" by a member of the audience I can only say i was very impressed. Again. The support bands consisted of one called Battle Ska, who were good to listen to (no lyrics tho) but my friends Marc, Jaz, Brett and Emily were the only ones skanking near the end of the set which someone said was "elevator music". The other support band, Mr Zippy, were ok, and good to sit and bop your head to, but no where near as good as the headliners.
When Capdown came on the once sparse floor, turned into a frenzied mosh pit, as they started the set with "Strength in Numbers". At once the frantic moshing started, and I stepped back, to avoid being crushed. I stayed near the back, (I was only a metre from the stage), and skanked with some random kids through "cousin cleotis" "pound for the sound" "progression versus punk rock" "ska wars" and the last song "faith no more". What made the evening even better was getting my capdown shirt signed by Jake. The man is a legend I salute him, hope it goes cool at Reading and in Japan.
