... release a new album, and in March they will be on tour Manchester Wolverhampton, Glasgow and a couple inLondon, Sad when I realised the London gigs which are easiest for me to get to are a late night start all night early morning gigs. They would wreck me, so I will not go as I am sorry but I am now not really awake (alright I admit it too old) enough to go to all night gigs . Perhaps they will play a festival in the summer hols. The first Album they released planet dust was ground breaking. The Chemical b...more

Premium Review Chemical Brothers in general: Dance music that I like (382 words)

The chemical brothers. Edd Simons and Tom Rowlands are the chemical brothers. Tom had been in a band called Ariel while he was at school They met when they both studied at Manchester poly in 1989. In 1991 Tom and Edd started of D J ing as the dust brothers. Then they changed their name as there was another band called dust brothers. The Chemical brothers play music that is a mixture of rock /dance somewhere between the two. I have heard them live a couple of times and was spellbound. So I am pleased to hear that in January 2005 they are due to release a new album, and in March they will be on tour Manchester ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review THE CHEMICALS BROTHERS SET AT GLASTONBURY WAS AS GOOD AS A W ... (140 words)

Don't get me wrong i am a massive fan, but what happened that night boys. The pyramid stage over its arms to u and u disappointed us. There were the favorties in the set but otherwise it was a let down. The mixing which they set out to do nearing the end was lame. *Firstly they built the crowd up into a frenzy, and just before the kicking beat cut in they went off stage for a t-break. ARE YOU OLD OR SOMETHING!!! *Then when thay came out with T.V behind there heads showing weird parts of there bodies the beat came down and they ended it. AHHHHHHHh From my tent i could hear all the same views So common lads do us some justice and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Chemical Brothers in general: Surrender to The Chemical Brothers (292 words)

This type of music is normally not what i like, in fact normally I'd hate an album like Surrender and I'd buy the latest Iron Maiden cd instead. BUT I can't help but loving Surrender. All the songs in a way that no other dance act can do. The Chemical Brothers make dance music an art and their musical style is impossible to imitate. The Chmeical Bothers are also famous for their videos. They go so well with the music ,its almost spooky just how well the song suits the image on screen and the videos to Surrender demonstrate this prefectly. The best example would be the Let Forever Be video which was weird yet brilliant at the same time. The album ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Kings of their craft (106 words)

The Chemical Brothers ar absolutely stunning. If you have any interest in any sort of dance music whatsoever, I urge you to check out the Chemicals, as few do it better than them. All three of their albums are utter scorchers (Dig Your Own Hole being my personal favourite) and all three contain some anthemic tracks that you’d have trouble forgetting in a hurry. The vocal contributors (Beth Orton, Noel Gallagher, Bobby Gillespie) are numerous and talented, and help with the whole package. The Chemical Brothers are a force to be reckoned with – if you don’t already love them, I recommend having a listen. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Chemical Brothers in general: Go on, LIVE at the Social... (159 words)

The fabled Social. The Midas touch of the Chemical Brothers. Yes this is a good mix album. It's an earlier Chems, so there are more of the scrappy electro stylings you'd have expected before their current, expansive tech-god form. Which is another way of saying it's one for the feet, not the head. Tracks like 'Mighty Hard Rocker' and Lionrock's 'Packet of Peace' remix funk you to your bones, thoroughly and deep. The rubber-band piano+bassline of 'Juice (Know the Ledge)' from Eric B and Rakim should have you lolloping around the bedroom like a damn loon. There's the plug-humping electro of ...  Read the complete review
