The chemical brothers. Edd Simons and Tom Rowlands are the chemical brothers.
Tom had been in a band called Ariel while he was at school
They met when they both studied at Manchester poly in 1989. In 1991 Tom and Edd started of D J ing as the dust brothers. Then they changed their name as there was another band called dust brothers.
The Chemical brothers play music that is a mixture of rock /dance somewhere between the two. I have heard them live a couple of times and was spellbound.
So I am pleased to hear that in January 2005 they are due to release a new album, and in March they will be on tour Manchester Wolverhampton, Glasgow and a couple inLondon, Sad when I realised the London gigs which are easiest for me to get to are a late night start all night early morning gigs. They would wreck me, so I will not go as I am sorry but I am now not really awake (alright I admit it
too old) enough to go to all night gigs . Perhaps they will play a festival in the summer hols.
The first Album they released planet dust was ground breaking.
The Chemical brothers play big beat dance music, I am listening to exit planet dust now lots of beat and a few vocals real head nodding foot tapping stuff. I think they have publishes abou10 Albums and 10 singles; Excuse me just going to grab my lunch… munch munch ….. ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz me snoozing in front of fire .Opps I fell asleep there.
Its later now and I am listening to brothers going to work it out. It’s starting out in a gentle soothing way before it develops its heavy beat thumping and making my body move. Yes I can just imagine myself on the dance floor twirling and whirling head bopping, arms swaying fists punching in the air, hips a swaying, feet a stomping/ tapping yes that was good it’s a fast continuous beat. I really love the chemical brothers music really makes me move. If you really feel like a dance go see them next year when they are playing in England happy listening Mary
