A mixture of Chers nerves, and a vocally challenged Sonny, who had got up and sang with her one day because she couldn't sing alone. Amazingly so, they actually sounded good together. Initially performing as Caesar and Cleo ~ why I don&...more

The first time I heard Cher, all I knew was she was singing with some fat longhaired guy. I didn't know her name. I didn't know his name. It was back in 1982, I was only 9, and to be honest, I didn't know a great deal about music (some would say I still don't ) and I'd just discovered Elvis anyway so .... Anyway, fast-forward 8 years. And although Cher had been in the charts and on our screens for most of the 1980's I never paid her any attention. Until, I heard 'Just Like Jesse James'. Ever since then I have liked her music, and her acting. Oh, and I found out who the fat longhaired guy was ...... MeatLoaf and they were singing ...  Read the complete review

I've always been a big fan of Cher, and I have followed her career quite closely. Cher was born as Cherilyn Sarkasian La Pier. She was born on May 20th 1946 in California. Whilst working with Phil Spector she met Sonny Bono, they formed a double act, and wnt under the names of Caesar and Cleo. Thos was later changed to the famous Sonny and Cher. Sonny and Cher had many great hits together, the most memerable one was I Got You Babe in 1965, as you can imagine this when straight to number one. Sonny and Cher were sucessful as a double act, however Cher longed to be a solo artist, she achieved her goal, and had some fantastic hits, such ...  Read the complete review

Well, what more can you say about this lady. She first topped the charts 35 years ago with Sonny and was last heard of with the best selling single of the year and a sell out world tour. In between, having three T.V shows, over a hundred singles, over 100 albums and appeared in Box Office smashes alongside Jack Nicholson, Meryl Streep, Michelle Pfeiffer, Judi Dench, Nicholas Cage and Winona Ryder (to name but a few). She has also won numerous film and music awards, including an Oscar and most recently a Grammy in 2000, as well as making two best selling fitness videos and a best selling autobiography. Her last album, a Greatest Hits compilation, is a must ...  Read the complete review

She's stood the test of time, and still looks good. As well as having a great voice she's a good serious actress. In Mask she plays the mother of a facially disfigured boy. She's also good at commedy, Mermaids was watchable and funny. She looks good with out looking to thin, and doesn't look half her age. She's come a long way from the double act with Sonny, and has become a more confident performer. If you like soft rock You'll like Cher. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Cher in general: Cher ......girl on top! (151 words)

This is a lady who has remained where she belongs, at the top of her proffesion. For many years she has entertained us with first class music, and has proved recently she still has what it takes. This is a lady who has kept her looks, I suspect by any means she can, but there are no silicone implants for a voice, and boy does she have a voice! I love her old stuff, but I think belive was a masterpiece. I am certain that she will still be around years from now, still displaying as much talent and still being as entertaining as she was in the past and still is now!! I am looking forward to her next single and when it is released you can bet ...  Read the complete review
