Christina Aguilera is an American singer known for her hits such as 'Voice Within' and ' Genie In a Bottle'.
Christina Aguilera rose to fame in 1999 at the age of 18 with her debut song ' Genie In a Bottle' after recording the song 'Reflection' for the Disney Film Mulan. For a couple of years the media presented her as Britney Spear's rival.

Genie in a Bottle - This was her first song about seeing a guy she likes. The lyrics are ' My body's saying let's go , but my heart is saying no'. These lyrics caused a bit of trouble at the time of it's release due to the 'sexual' lyrics which critics thought were too mature for a singer of her age to be singing about. I think this song was a great debut single as it's soo catchy.It has a funky dance routine.Genie in a Bottle reached number 1 in the Uk charts.
Beautiful - I love this song.It's a ballad which is has a strong message for victims of bullying saying don't listen to what other people say - you are beautiful in your own way.I love this song because it gives you confidence.

Voice Within - This is another great ballad which really shows off Christina's voice. This song is about when she was a little girl and how violent her dad was towards her dad and how she used to tell herself it would be ok in the end. The lyrics are very touching "young girl don't cry - it's alright"
