Advantages: Heavy, dynamic and epic

Disadvantages: Disregarded as too weak in some genres and too heavy in others

Cradle of Filth are undoubtedley one of the most successful British metal bands. Their mix of techincal guitar work, orchestral pompe and circumstance and the entwining and powerful lyrics make most of their songs epic. The're sometimes labeled as a black metal band, however most songs, although do have a reference to the occult, they aren't a Satanic Band and none of the band are Satanists. They prefer to be just "Cradle of Filth" and not be labelled in any way. Their earlier songs are more reminiscient of Black Metal, but as the albums progress they have more conceptual themes and ideas. Recently I've been listening to their newer albums such as Nymphetamine onwards. Nymphetamine is very good, although not as heavy as the earlier albums. Many fans find Thornography as the weakest album, but I think its OK, and their newest album, Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder as their heaviest and personally my favourite, especially the Special Edition, which has extra songs and goodies. Summary: A very good band, one of my favourites and one of the best in decades.
