The Crockett's / Llama Farmer's - Manchester Hop & Grape - 10.10.00 Although they're relatively unknown to the mainstream pop charts, mention either of these two bands in student circles and you'll be regaled as to the tales of previous gigs with an almost orgasmic glee. It's in this "Nuke Ibifa" package tour that you really could say is an indie wet dream. i went to see the croccketts in 1999 when they were the support act at a stereophonics gig. i had never heard of them before and was blown away by their performance. their energy on stage was great and when i heard their album 'we may be skinny and wiry' i was not disappointed. the album combines a mixture of fast rock songs and slower angst ridden songs. it is a mature album with very well written songs. the slower songs such as bluster boy and autumn afternoon give the album balance while and alternative funky honky tonk sound is heard in bucket and spade. my favourite song on the album has to be tennesse . it is a mixture ...
