Advantages: Similar to older stuff, really epic album

Disadvantages: The Cure aren't as popular any more

The Cure have had more musical ups and downs than Zebedee in a rollercoaster. Their previous peak having been ‘Disintegration’, they reached an all-time low post ‘Wish’ – seemingly through a misplaced desire to keep up with current Pop trends.

Well, I would like to take this opportunity to declare that The Cure are back!

‘Bloodflowers’ has been likened to ‘Disintegration’, but it is not quite the same. It seems to be a result of all previous work, which has thoroughly matured. It is an epic, with one song over 11 minutes long. The tunes really are the Cure, with a style similar to ‘Forest’ or ‘Disintegration’, with no evidence of ‘Friday I’m in Love’ (happy, but not bad) or the appalling ‘Mint Car’.

Really only one for devout Cure fans, but it’s resulted in me digging my old black wooly jumpers out!
