I have enjoyed the music of Cypress hill for years now. I first heard the song "how I could just kill a man" back in 1991 and just loved the style of rough beats and B-reals funky nasal tone; the lyrics also have something true to say! (What do you do if you catch someone stealing your car ?? play the role model or act the thug ??) These are not the actual lyrics !!! After hearing this song (and playing it every time I deejayed) I had to find out more about the group and if I could get anymore of their tunes. The group are: DJ Grandmixer Muggs Formally of 7A3, B-Real and Sen Dog (brother of Mellow man Ace) They lived in and around Cypress ... Read the complete review

Where the entire non-hiphop population of Planet Earth got the idea that Cypress Hill were a rock-rap group for because they did one rock-rap song I don’t know. Are Run DMC a rock-rap group for the track they did with Aerosmith? Are Flipmode Squad a rock-rap group for the track Busta Rhymes did with Ozzie Osbourne? Are NWA a rock-rap group for the track Ice Cube did with KoRn? Nooooooooooo! So why do these cretins go around spreading their vicious filth about this group which would put them in the same classification as the barely-rhyming Limp Bizkit??? Cypress hill are strictly hiphop...hence the track on this album entitled “Strictly Hiphop”! ... Read the complete review

Cypress Hill - Stoned Raiders If Afroman is reason enough as to why smokers should be shot on sight then Cypress Hill make us think twice. As famous for their smoking habits as they are for their music the hill have just gone and released their best album of their career. Following on from last years "Live At The Fillmore" album and taking tips from Rage Against The Machine (who B-Real was rumoured to be joining earlier in the year) the guys mix up rock, funk and a large slice of hip-hop and make one of the truly great hip-hop albums of the year not to be produced by Dr Dre. When Nu-metal is written of as a bigger mistake than Britpop and Limp Bizkit and ... Read the complete review

Cypress Hill have been around for many years, but have recently shot to greater fame with two of their best albums, Skull And Bones, and Stoned Raiders. Cypress Hill have an infectious mix of rap, drums, guitars, and instrumentals, known collectively as rap core, this group has released a number of mind blowing albums. You might recognise the songs 'Insane in the Brain', and 'Rap superstar'. If you do you have heard Cypress Hill. Or, if not, more recently, 'Trouble' and 'Lowrider'. These two singles come from their most recent album, 'Stoned Raiders', while 'Rap Superstar' comes from 'Skull and Bones', and ... Read the complete review

Ok, now i'm on to a subject that i know and love ! Cypress Hill have been a major part of my life since Black Sunday was released all those years ago. When i first got into the Hill they we're musically superior to just about all the other rap styles i'd heard, Black Sunday kicked some serious arse, with riffs like lil putos & hand on the glock, so many great tunes. Many years later & i'm damn proud of the boys, not only are they still on the scene, they are still my number 1. I started getting into the metal scene a few years ago and i'm now a serious mosh head, but Cypress has always been with me and i'm glad to see the boys ... Read the complete review
