Manchester Ritz, 15th February 2000. The best gig ever performed. A brilliant venue appreciated a brilliant perfomance from one of the very few dance acts that play their music rather than just sample someone else's or programme something uninspiring. Death In Vegas unfortunately, since this date have released a new version of dirge which does not have nearly so much power, but is still probably amongst the best dance music available. In the week that Aisha went Top 10, I saw the band. The evening started with two extremely mediocre support slots by Alpinestars and Ping Pong, but this was fine, as it meant we had consumed more alcohol by the time DIV came on. The set consisted mainly of a play through of Contino Sessions, starting with dirge. This worked perfectly, as it drought you and down, warmed you up, so by Flying going on to Aisha the music was pumping through your veins. They'd slow it down bring it back. You dance until you though it couldn't expand any more, then it exploded. The sounds coming from the stage were impossible to contemplate. Unfortunately i have seen the band ...
