Advantages: Stan

Disadvantages: everything else, the swearing, and abuse

Eminem is one of the most controversial artists of our time and its isn’t without a lot on incidents especially in his songs that have brought these about.

I myself cannot see the big fascination with Eminem, all I see is a screwed up kid and although I feel sorry for the kind of childhood he received, it still doesn’t give him any right to treat people the way he does especially people that are mentioned in his songs like Christina Aguilera, and even if it is supposed to be taken lightly, it isn’t really fair on the people including artists that are receiving his abuse.

When he first came onto the scene, I noticed him for the catchy tune of “My Name Is” which I admit was quite good but there was always a part of me which thought “He’s not gonna last” but he’s still here and annoying me!

I thought that I’d give the guy another chance to redeem himself and so I borrowed the Marshall Mathers album to have a listen to and couldn’t believe that it was actually available to buy!

A lot of the songs are similar in style and there is a lot of swearing which in most cases is not needed. There was one track which I thought was nice when It started off with and that was “Stan” I heard this song on the album before it was released as a single and thought “hmmmm this track sounds quite good nice and mellow" ” then suddenly he bursts onto the track and seemed to wreck it.

At first, in my mind, all I could think was that he was spoiling it but when I listened after a few more times, I realised the song was putting a message across as I listened to the lyrics and gradually I began to take a shining to it. This I admit was a song which I liked and I also like the sample that was taken from Dido’s newest single “Thank You”.

The newest track that Eminem is on is “Purple Hill” by D-12 and although the cho
rus is catchy, this is not one I will be listening to. I know a lot of you guys enjoy his music and I appreciate that but remember that this is only my opinion. All I have to say though is that it seems as if this guy is filled with anger.

I feel that Eminem will soon be past his sell by date and we will get bored of him (hopefully)

Thanx for listening. Bye for now.

I too don't like much about Eminem, but each to their own I suppose.
