I finally got to see them perform at last, after waiting for 20 years! All those times sat staring at my bedroom posters and daydreaming about Simon & co during French lessons still didn?t prepare me for the full excitement of seeing them in the flesh! This flashback to the eighties finally happened on Sunday 11th April at the Nottingham Arena (a bit of a trek but worth it) for the first performance of their comeback tour. Back in the eighties , the music scene was full of pretty boy bands , style over substance you could say . In many peoples opinion , the worst offenders were Duran Duran. Not in my eyes , however. You see , these boys were different. Not only did they write their own material , but they played their own instruments and put on a real show , whenever they played live. Their most extravegant tour was The Tiger tour of 1983/84, which was the first show to incorporate a large screen ,much to the delight of all those people not able to see the action on stage.
