Eddi Reader in general

THe cambridge folk festival 2000, I travelled with friends on a pilgrimage to see Ani DiFranco and soak up the atmosphere. I was pissed off because I couldn't get the time off work to go to the whole thing and wanted to see Eddi sing. Anyway, the first act got cancelled and suddenly Eddi and Boo walked onto stage hungover and tired having offered to fill in and just jam with their guitarist. It was one of the most amazing performances I have ever seen with the two of them sharing vocals and obviously just enjoying themselves. Eddi Reader has one of the most beautiful female voices around and is a very talented songwriter and musician. How very sad that her voice is probably best known for the song "Perfect", which was immortalised by the Asda advertisement! This she sung back in 1988, as the lead singer with Fairground Attraction. Although it was successful in the singles charts, it was in my opinion somewhat humdrum and definitely not a patch on the work which Eddi has produced since.
