ELBOW - LIVE AT NEWCASTLE UNIVERSITY If beauty were to be found in the eye of the beholder, it would be an arduous task to conjure up an image subtle enough to befit Manchester’s most recent bunch of melodious heroes. As a spectacle, Elbow are no more than five, uninteresting blokes wearing boring clothes who make up between-song-banter about the benefits of plastic cutlery. Yet behind the bland cover lurks an ocean of wonder, surprise and heart-warming delight. It’s a testing ride at first.
