... fine and didn’t feel crowded at all. We had a good view of the stage from our seats (although Elton still looked the size of a pea) which were at the side of the arena. Because we were seated sideways on, we had to turn our heads left for the duration of the performance; this has left me with a very stiff neck and looking left for the past couple of days! Not one for crowded, busy places I haven’t been to a concert for years, however when my fiancé told a few months back that he’d got us Elton John tickets I was really pleased and decided to brace the crowds not expecting a rowdy bunch to be there! Being in our mid twenties, we were subjected to weeks of ridicule and teasing from our peers regarding the event; luckily we don’t give 2 jots what people think/say, but did have to smile when we realised that we were probably the youngest couple in the whole arena on the night! In a word boring. I like Elton he's survived a number of years through my youth and had a number of hit songs. An hour or two of Elton and his nine foot friend was OK but after that it got quite boring. A number of the song were unknown and there was no hwyl. The catering was terrible and really expensive nothing compared to the Catatonnia concert last year which was well organised. An evening with Elton John at Broadlands Romsey Hampshire was one to remember. He started playing at 8pm and went on singing and playing the piano until 10.45 pm. The hits just came and came, every one was well known and it just shows how much material he has written when you think of all the songs that played and those that were missed out. The catering at the venue was OK but a good pre concert atmosphere was achieved by the live bands playing to the audience as they queued up for their food or drink.
