Advantages: The second album
Disadvantages: Some of the career and fame decisions she has made!
The first word that comes to mind is nice but maybe slightly bland. Emma Bunton is probably the one out of the Spice Girl's who had the longest most successive music career with appearences at the Commenwealth Jublee Party and three albums released off her original album deal. Best known as Baby Spice, from the Spicegirls - one of the biggest if not the biggest girl band ever to grace the world.
I think Emma Bunton appears to be a nice person, who's very homely and domesticated and passionate about older music from the 60's and dancing. Her stint on Strictly Come Dancing i thought was impeccable and showed her commitment and her fun factor alot. Coming 4th may have been a disappointment but i thought throughout the weeks she did really well and the UK warmed to her.
I think a fair way to judge Emma Bunton, is by her work. Her work on Spice Girls' is quite good, she was at least one of the main singers of the group and sang lead vocals quite alot - best her vocal is best known for her performance on '2 Become 1' on the chorus. After the Spice Girls, she was more or less ensured a record deal and she teamed up with Tin Tin and gave a great song in What I Am, i thought it was a good preview of the musical side of Emma we would see in the fuutre. What Took You So Long? is one of my faviourite songs of the last ten years. I think it's sang so well and what a chorus! fab in every single way. Her first album is quite formualic, every song is good but standouts are Take My Breath Away, What I am and the single What Took You So Long.
After some average record sales i think Emma realised that to stay and ensure her career she would need to define a style of music and her choosing 60's music was genius - probably one of the best pop albums ever was created in that process in 'Free Me' it beat her sales of her debut record and gave 4 brillant singles diverse, catchy and fab. The UK was hating the Spice Girls and all the others at this point had failed musically and been dropped from their original deals - Emma stuck on released the meaningful Free Me, the brillant Maybe (check this out on Youtube) I'll Be There and the mad Crickets Sing For Annamaria. I throughly recommend this album to anyone, it's truly pop genius and a masterpiece. Great production and Emma shows real charachter on record.
Her stint on Strictly Come Dancing, didnt do her music career any favours because this is where it went pairshaped. With the Children in Need single it should have been a hit but it wasn't - I think a cover was not a good idea but a decent song in 'Downtown' was created in the process. Life In Mono, is mature, sassy and a record you'd think came out twenty years ago. Old tempo and the brillant All I Need To Know is stunning almost breath taking. An album of treats but it didnt sell well and off there was Emma's music career.
Spice Girls reformed, she joined in and that was that. Then she had a baby and awaits a marriage proposal from her long time boyfriend Jade....the story continues. I think i'll wait for Emma Bunton to release her own autobiography to explain the rest. Rich beyond her wildest dreams she is best known for being nice and some decent pop songs but the world will always refer to her as Baby Spice!
Summary: One fifth of the spice Girls

- 08/02/09 Well I suppose Posh is more successful in many respects but it won't stop me thinking she's a talentless skinny bore whose fashion sense is dull, conventional and mostly tries to emphasise her fake assets... |

- 08/02/09 surely posh is the most successful? Look at the dosh, the husband etc... >_> |

- 08/02/09 Hmm, I'm not sure if her music career was the best, Geri had 3 albums and Mel C did pretty well. I do like Emma's songs though, esp. Maybe |
