The Eurythmics were formed in 1981, after 4 years as a couple, and four years as The Tourists, Dave Stewart and Anne Lennox, embarked on an experimental period of demos in West Germany, these sessions launched their first album Eurythmics. The pair's music had an electronic sound that wasn't an instant success; it didn't fit in with the sound of the time. The Eurythmics are an enigma. They made music in the 80s, music which was popular with people living in the 80s, yet it still stand sthe test of time, and is actually appealing now. This is indeed a rare occurrence. Sweet Dreams is a classic, for example. Annie Lennox and Dave Clarke are still going strong, which speaks volumes. If you like the work of either of them, you should check out the Eurythmics for a slice of what they used to get up to.
