Advantages: Nice touches, Abstract, Well filmed

Disadvantages: Lifeless, Doesn't show off the song, Dull

Now I love Feeder, I have so many of their albums (all of them in fact including imports) and all versions of nearly every single they've ever produced. I've seen them live multiple times (including the up coming V festival) and I think they are the greatest ever.

But... when it comes to their videos all I can do is groan. Cause they're b*****ks. Lets just study the 3 video's Feeder have released for their most recent (and possibly greatest) album, Comfort In Sound. These 3 include Come Back Around, Just The Way I'm Feeling and Forget about Tomorrow.

Each have their own abstract and slightly acceptable meaning. Come Back Around featured multiple female drummers, to coincide with this being the first video with the Band in it without their drummer, the late Jon Lee. It was a nice Video, but watching a band play, no matter how many females there is, just doesn't do it for me. All it features is a bland room with the band playing the song... this is of course acceptable but it would be nice to throw in some extra footage along with it to keep us enthralled.

Enter Just the Way I'm Feeling and at last we have that... sorta. The abstract way in which this video is put together creates a dream like world, and it feels like an old time video. It is the best out of the 3 but it hardly makes any sense and you're left thinking "Ok.. erm that was crap". Nevertheless a video that makes you think is a damn good video indeed, and it is the only one off the Comfort In Sound album not produced by their normal video director.

But they still managed to unleash him upon the other and most recent Video Forget About Tomorrow. Grant (the lead singer of the band) was forced to walk 4 miles singing. Basically that is what he did... walk to and away from the camera singing... in various settings. The idea was to represent a journey and the changing of setting but still keeping Grant moving was a very nice touch. E
xcept the video was dull and did more to show off Grant as opposed to the song, something a lad like me doesn't appreciate.

Looking at the earlier video's and you get a similar trend, a genuine level of bland video's that won't set the world alight. Early videos looked rather tacky but at least the "Just a Day" video featuring various fans singing the song in their bedroom's had a certain unique concept to it. I'd just like to see something a little more exciting that gets the addrenaline going?

yeh i agree, Feeder vids are mighty dull, much like the new album. Shame really. Buck Rogers was just about the only one i thought was quite good, but even then nowhee near worthy of recognition. Good op.

I like the "Just a Day" video, especially the little kid! But, yeah, that girl, trying to be arty, when everyone else is just getting down and having some fun!!!
