So, last week I celebrated my 30th Birthday. It's considered a milestone, and I know my wife had something planned as a surprise. On the morning of Friday 6th June, she handed me a card, saying Happy Birthday, hope you enjoy it! I opened the card to find four tickets to see the Foo Fighters that evening at Wembley Stadium. What a present! I'd first noticed they were doing this gig in January, and was gutted to find they had sold out. However, my wife spotted the gig in November and bought Friday tickets straight away. So, off we went to Wembley. We just caught the end of Supergrass, who were supporting the Foos, and got ourselves a beer and settled in our ... Read the complete review

I had heard of the foo Fighters a few years ago, but because I hadn't heard of any of their songs, I didn't think about them, then I saw "Learn to Fly" on MTV, and thought it was a great video and a good song. Then about a month or so ago I heard them again, with the brilliant song "Breakout" from the new Jim Carrey film, with again a brilliant video. Admittedly I haven't bought any album, but if I hear a couple of more songs that I like, I can see myself doing so. I thought Foo Fighters would be one of those typical rock-bands that scream *so* loudly into the mic that you can't hear the words, but I don't mind admitting I ... Read the complete review

When the legendary bird the "Phoenix" dies it emerges from its ashes in a blazing glory to be reborn. The Foo Fighters is a classic example of such a legend. According to some people, Foo Fighters were formed due to the Death of Kurt Cobain. When Kurt Cobain commited suicide he left us his infamous line "It's better to burn out than to fade away" found in his suicide note. This done him justice as he is well remembered as a legend. Like the Phoenix Nirvana was destroyed however from the ashes Foo Fighters rose in a blazing glory as a new band with Nirvana's drummer, David Grohl now the lead singer, replacing his place with a new ... The foo fighters concept began after the death of Kurt Cobain. The drummer for Nirvana, a certain Dave Grohl, decided to book himself into a recording studio for a week and as a result, their first album Foo Fighters was created. Although Dave played all the instruments on that album, the band quickly grew to include Pat Smear - the touring guitarist for Nirvana and several other aquaintances of Mr Grohl. Since Then two other albums have been released by them which, in my opinion are both amazing. They have some brilliant tunes behind them and the future looks bright. The Foos are definately worth a look at whatever rock music you like as their songs are so ... Read the complete review

The Foo's in my opininon are a very strong rock 'band' with some outstanding tunes. Dave Grohl has shown that it is possible to succeed and make good music even in the wake of such a huge sensation as Nirvana. He has also shown that as well as being an exceptionally good drummer, as we already knew from his Nirvana days, he is a very inventive guitarist, a good songwriter and has a decent voice to boot. In my opinion the first Foo Fighters album is the strongest, with some excellent tunes once you have dug through the raw sound to find them. the second and third albums both have their strong points and both benefit from better production and a bit more ...
