Gareth or Will? That was the only question on everyones lips for the last few weeks of pop idol. I personally was voting for Gareth every since I saw him at the first audition. I really thought he'd win it. Until, that is, I saw Will in the final 10 and noticed how natural he was, he wasn't trying as hard as the others it just happened for him. I still voted for Gareth but all the time i knew that Will was going to win. Well at least Gareths still in the limelight, eh?!
Gareth Gates recently released a cover of the Righteous Brothers hit "Unchained Melody". This is a song I have loved and been singing ever since I was little. I even like the Robson and Jerome version. So, to hear Gareth Gates (my pop idol fav) singing it just made me happy and I bought the single as soon as it came out on Monday 18th March.
On the single is also the songs that Will Young released on his single "Evergreen" and "Anything is Possible" which I think Will actually sang better. Gareths voice just sounds a bit to plain after hearing Will's versions of these songs.
All in all I think that Gareth Gates will do well in his career well he is around, but Will Young will do better and be around longer.
