Below is the entry in a dictionary about Gareth Gates: 'Gareth Gates'- "A Teen Idol" "Very Unoriginal" "has a quarter decent samey same voice" "steals other peoples songs" "loves himself". Okay so its not actually a true dictionary entry. I thought after the making of hear’say on Pop Stars that this sort of trash would disappear and when I heard they were doing another one for a Pop Idol I was amazed that they had the gaul and thought that it would flop for sure. But hey presto due the lack of real music lovers in our world they managed to make another Manufactured Pop Star. The definition of music 1. The art of arranging sounds in time so as to produce a continuous, unified, and evocative composition, as through melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre. 2. Vocal or instrumental sounds possessing a degree of melody, harmony, or rhythm. 1. A musical composition. 2. The written or printed score for such a composition. 3. Such scores considered as a group: We keep our music in a stack near the piano. 3. A musical accompaniment. 4. A particular category or kind of music. Where does Gareth Gates come into this ? He doesn’t make his own backing tunes, he gets told what to sing and how to sing it. He’s just a puppet of the world of manufactured music. Basically anyone who does like this artist(each to there own) has been tricked, the whole point of the show was to find out who was the best performer, right?. Wrong the whole point was to find out who you liked most and what kind of song you liked most, whilst finding the most attractive. They do this by making you vote. Once they collect this information they deliver what they think you wanted, take Gareth Gates he can sing in the same fashion any other Pop singer can, which is the only talent needed. Then they’ll give him a designer, make up
artist and someone to pick the nations favourite Pop songs. Get him to sing them and everybody wins, right?!!! Wrong again What about the poor kids who have practised for years in their bedroom or garage who are talented musicians who can play instruments and sing there own songs. They struggle for years playing in little pubs and clubs earning next to nothing! And theres this Gareth Gates and all the others who just follow orders and hold out there hands for the money. Jim Morrison would turn in his grave if he heard if he heard Pop Idols version of ‘Light my Fire’. Do real musicians a favour and stop supportting these groups. They’re stopping real musicians from doing what they love!
