That's sad, I thought to myself when I heard George Harrison had died. Nice chap, by all accounts. Used to play the guitar in The Beatles. He also bankrolled The Long Good Friday, for which we should all be eternally grateful. And he appears to have been without the galactic, irony-free ego which consumes so many rock stars. His involvement in The Rutles is testimony to that. Which is why I suspect he'd be as baffled as me at the hysterical reaction to his passing. I would just like to take this opportunity to pay homage to a great Beatle, man and guitarist. It was a great shock and loss to hear of George Harrisons death, even though it came as no great suprise we all knew the man was ill. There is nothing new i can say about him other than to pay my respects and join others in grieving. However i feel his death for once has been handled with care. There was to be a documentary on him but the family thought not enough time had passed. I was also touched to hear paul MCcartney call George his brother. To me he was like an uncle. The death of George Harrison this morning was not unexpected, but all the same, it did come as a shock. At this moment in time, tributes are pouring in from all over the world. He was the youngest Beatle, the quiet one with a dry sense of humour and an easy charm.
