... they die. Within minutes of Harrison's death, people were wandering the streets carrying pictures of him, looking for a film crew. Florists did a roaring trade. For a few hours, it was Lady Di all over again. Former members of skiffle groups who had once appeared on the same bill as The Beatles at the Cavern 40 years ago popped up with their personal recollections. I doubt Harrison would have known them from Adam. If they'd turned up at his Oxfordshire mansion for a cup of tea he'd have set the dogs on th...more

That's sad, I thought to myself when I heard George Harrison had died. Nice chap, by all accounts. Used to play the guitar in The Beatles. I would just like to take this opportunity to pay homage to a great Beatle, man and guitarist. It was a great shock and loss to hear of George Harrisons death, even though it came as no great suprise we all knew the man was ill. There is nothing new i can say about him other than to pay my respects and join others in grieving. However i feel his death for once has been handled with care. There was to be a documentary on him but the family thought not enough time had passed. I was also touched to hear paul MCcartney call George his brother. To me he was like an uncle. Anyway i for one will rejoyce in his life and works, i particularly like his songs, got my mind ...  Read the complete review

The death of George Harrison this morning was not unexpected, but all the same, it did come as a shock. At this moment in time, tributes are pouring in from all over the world. He was the youngest Beatle, the quiet one with a dry sense of humour and an easy charm. It’s easy to be cynical now and say that people don’t really mean what they say in their tributes to those who pass away, but people did truly take the Beatles to their hearts, not just those who were around 35 years ago, but younger generations too. “I really want to see you Lord / And it won’t take long / My Lord!” His musical ability and quality as a ...  Read the complete review
