Advantages: Lots of fun tracks, Nice art work

Let's go faster baby! We had Shizo now we have hyper! Geri Halliwell seems to be more than famous and what better time than now to release her much-awaited second album. But is it any good? Will it really have you screaming to go faster?

Well sorry to say you won't be reaching for the dashboard on this one, it is good but nothing major to report. The first thing that we need to establish here is that Geri has never been a great singer, however, you could never meet a better entertainer.

Anyway let's have the usual track-by-track listing and the hits and the misses ~

1 ~ Scream If You Wanna Go Faster

This song has very American feel to it and very upbeat and fun. It is one of the better tracks on the album although you still get the feeling that Geri's vocals are strained a little. The lyrics are fun and the theme is pop, I love the chorus it is fairly powerful and shows that Geri may have a bit to offer on this latest offering.

2 ~ Shake Your Bootie Cutie

This is another fun pop song with lots of voice over and Geri talking over the track and this one has a very reminiscent feel of Mel B about it and it was plain to see that the 2 did have a very similar vocal range.

3 ~ Calling

This is the first ballad on the album and is fairly pleasant sounds a lot like a George Michael track, have a listen and I am sure you will know which one I mean? But this is suited very much to Geri's voice it is nice soft and gentle and I love listening to this when I am in the mood for relaxing!

4 ~ Feels Like Sex

This is back to a funky kind of chic rock / pop ensemble and is a bit sassy to say the least! With lots of distorted voice over sections and really hot lyrics, not one for the kids if you are prude but it is nothing major. Lot's of talking about touching yourself there! Again Geri almost sails through this one just talking and no real effort at singing.

5 ~
Circles Round The Moon

On the ballad band wagon again but this is much more of a happy summer feeling song and I can see this being a possible single but not a definite as it is not a great vocal song, nothing powerful but it has a very infectious chorus and it reminds me a little of Emma's 'What Took You So Long?'

6 ~ Love Is The Only Light

This is an acoustic ballad and is perfectly suited to Geri's vocal range, she sang this on TOTP Plus + this weekend and she looked great and she actually sang it live. It has a very Latin feel to it but nothing like 'My Chico Latino' never the less it is a great track, nothing spectacular and not single material.

7 ~ Strength Of A Woman

This has a very mature and upbeat feel to it and is a great pop song. It suits Geri very well the lyrics are great and there is a touch of Whitney's Step By Step in there including lyrics and not just the notes! This could be a single with its powerful chorus and equally noticeable verses.

8 ~ Don't Call Me Baby

This is very Spice Girl's which I am sure Geri is trying to get away from but let's face it this has Stop written all over it, right down into the chorus and you can almost jump into the dance routine that went with it! This is surely single material as this is serious pop and is one of the few tracks that Geri really sings with ease.

9 ~ Lovey Dovey Stuff

This is a slick and funky mellow tune that has also got a George Michael feel to it but it is fabulous! I really like this song and I can see a classic and video to this Geri the seductress! I think this is a dig at the papers and all other things that goes on the little world of Geri Halliwell, a nice funky little number.

10 ~ It's Raining Men

Well unless you have been digging the garden or washing the car with blindfolds and earmuffs, you will know that this song and her super diet have shot G
eri back into super stardom assisted with the smash hit film 'Bridget Jones Diary', this is a rework of the 80's Weather Girl's classic and a good job that the girl does to, although it does sound a little like a Karaoke version.

11 ~ Heaven & Hell (Being Geri Halliwell)

This is a great little ditty and would be a little self indulgent if it was to ever be released as a single, but never the less a girl has to get her dig in at all the cruel things going on in her world and let people really see what it is like being a star. It is almost advise if you listen carefully. It is wacky though starts of sounding like a perfect ballad and jumps into this mad bubble gum cheesy pop song with classic ballad in the middle!

12 ~ I Was Made That Way

What better way to finish of than a nice ballad and one that is truly suited to Ms Halliwell's vocal range and guess what? It too sounds like a George Michael production in every respect. However, there are no mentions of him on the track production notes.

So there we have it Geri's second long player and not at all bad, but no where as good as Schizo!

The art work for the CD is not to bad and each song has symbols to indicate what type of song it is and what it may mean, the symbols are as follows: ~

This is for the mind!

This is a sexy song!

This type of song is to make you move!

In the thanks Geri thanks many people from God to choc éclairs but there is no sign of thanks to Robbie on the CD unless it is done in a more meaningful way that only him and Geri know!

Scream If You Wanna Go Faster, you may be screaming but don't expect to go all that fast.
