Grandaddy is a five-piece lo-fi band from the small town of Modesto, Calif. that was formed by former pro-skateboarder Jason Lytle in 1992. The original lineup, Lytle on guitars and vocals, bassist Kevin Garcia and dummer Aaron Burtch,succeeded in building their own studio in Lytle's house, which helped contribute to their warm, organic tone. Over the next few years they released a handful of records that received virtually no attention.
