Advantages: Give German music good name, Voted best German Act by MTV

Disadvantages: Don't tour enough

When you think of German bands, Rammstein instantly springs to mind. Thus I was a bit wary when my friend recommended Guano Apes to me. Luckily they turned out to be far more melodic and inspirational. I read in Metal Hammer magazine that they have been likened to Skunk Anansie and No Doubt, probably because these bands also have really charismatic front-women. The amazing voice from lead female volcalist Sandra Nasic is both full of sensuality and raw power.

I was so blown away by their sound on CD that I instantly jumped at the chance to see them live in London even though we had to get a train from Portsmouth. It really was worth every penny as the band had a surprisingly strong following and there was a great crowd and atmosphere. Sandra has been blessed with good looks as well as a great vocal chords and had both men and women eating out the palm of her hands. I doubt they'll tour again anytime in the near future so remember the name and go see them if you get the chance!

Guano Apes have released 2 albums:
'Proud Like A God' and 'Don't Give Me Names'.
