Advantages: They saved Rock, Great band members, They still exist

Disadvantages: Some of there music just isn't up to scratch, Drugs and violence took them through a bad patch, there not half as good as they used to be

All young rock fans have an old band in who they worship, wether it be Metallica, Nirvana, red hot chilli peppers or even AC/DC. Iam no different, although being honest, my old band would have to be Nirvana, My CD collection has space for the likes of Guns N Roses.
I ve being doing a bit of reasearch recently on the late 80's and I ve realised Guns N Roses must be the most under rated band ever. Punk and metal was over and rock was starting to die in the mid 80's and along came Guns N Roses to take Rock/metal through to the likes of Nirvana, just filling in that late 80's space. Although they still exist now, I feel that they saved Rock from extinction in that little bad patch and that was when they were most effective. The first album 'appetite for destruction' was in my eyes the best of the lot and it came at just the right time.
Again heavy Rock is just starting up again, and I suppose we should thank Indie bands like the verve and Oasis after a sticky patch. But now I feel it is time to look back at Rock and just remember who got it to its brilliance today.
