The Damned in general:
... The Damned's 'first' come back album, 'Machine Gun Ettiquette', is a true classic of the punk genre. After losing their original guitarist Brian James, Captain Sensible takes over at the guitar helm, and along with original members Dave Vanian on vocals, Rat Scabies on drums and new bassist Algy Ward, they released this offering from 1979. If you are new to the Damned just go out and ... Read the full review: Machine Gun Etiquette by mark9fsn |

Millencolin in general ... general, Millencolin are just... incredible! They are a Swedish punk-rock band, sounding similar to bands like Bad Religion, Pennywise etc. but with a different aspect on their music. The Swedish accent from the singer and bass player, Nikola Sarcevic gives a great effect on the music and the tremendus guitarists and backing vocalists, Eric Ohlsson and Mathias Farm is amazing aswell as they thrive off one another, giving the perfect effect. The very talented drummer, Frederik Larzon completes the band, making them unstoppable! The lyrics are now in English, unlike back in October '92 in Örebro Sweden when the band started. Millencolin was then just Erik, Mathias... Read the full review: Pure Brilliance by coolboy182 |

Beastie Boys in general ... Beasties finally release a new song. It protests the war against Iraq and happens to share view the insight I share with anyone who cares to listen. Musically, it's works as a solid extension of the beats processed in Hello Nasty. Many short and inane reviews read by pigheaded and so-called fans rank on the Beasties for thier views and lyrics used. As a listener that focuses on lyrics when there's an attempt at relevancy, these lyrics are superb. The only line that sounds and reads lame is: "George Bush youีre looking like Zoolander trying to play tough for the camera" line. Obviously, when reading the lyrics, this is by far the angries... The Ramones in general ... The sad death of Joey and Dee Dee Ramone prompted me to dig this live Ramones album out, and I am pleased I did. This surely must be one of the best, if not the best live album ever. It consists of no less than twenty eight songs in just under forty five minutes. This album catches The Ramones at their very best, so good it makes you sweat. From 'Rockaway Beach' to 'We're a Happy Family' it is just pure three or four chord, Marshalls stacked, leather and ripped denim genius. I am sure the likes of Green Day, Blink 152, U2 amongst many others would not be around today if it was not for these four guys from New Jersey. With songs like ...
