Public Image Ltd. in general:
... is dead. Long live the Queen! As messily as The Sex Pistols and UK punk vomited onto the public eye, as messily had they crumbled away and dissolved. The post-mortem of punk was post-punk, and Johnny Rotten turned John Lydon was one of the pathologists. In the first carnation (the carnation and period often referred to as most relevant), Lydon joined by Jah Wobble on baloony reggae inspired bass, and *forgot f... Public Image Ltd. in general ... CHANK-CHANK-CHANK-CHANK-SKREE!!!! If I wanted to..... Public Image Ltd, a different kind of tension, a marginal, mainstream, hating, loving concoction of sound, with the height of earnest rock and throb and the lows of self deprecating humour. A shadowy, eerie stage, a singer crouching back to the audience, to one side a lean and befringed guitarist cranking out well weird trebly sounds, to the other a seated, stocky bass player in a hat sending out subterranean waves of sound, thumping away at the pit of the stomach while a faceless, nameless drummer at the bank pours out funky rhythms... This is the unmistakable sound of PiL, initially a ... Read the full review: Sarcasm, irony, the height of fashion and BIG BASS SOUNDS by dave27 |

Green Day in general ... Day are class, they were cool when they started wuith Kerplunk and loads of EPs like Smoothy and 1039, which led to the creation of 1039 smoothed out slappy hours a EP compilation album. But as they grew older they made more cool songs and they are louder and better than ever. Dookie really shot them to the lime light and it was an awesome album, the follow up Insominiac wasn't though. They really hit it home with ther elease of the critically acclamed Warning album with great songs such as Misery, Minority and the incredible Macy's Day Perade. They were nice enough then to produce their finale sorta thing with International Superhits a greatest hits CD, ... Read the full review: WICKED! by |

Green Day in general ... Not everyone realises who Green Day are, but as soon as you play them one of two songs they suddenly go "oh yeah! I quite liked that one!!" and promise themselves that they'll buy an album. They are a 30-something three-piece, still suffering the hangover of teenage angst. Most of their music reflects some frustration or another - though usually in quite a friendly-cum-cynical way. ¬¬These two songs; remind me¬¬ Their most famous song "Basket Case" was the soundtrack to summer for many fans with it's frenetic pace and catchy chorus. "Good Riddance" was a more recent hit - used a lot on TV whenever something poigna... Read the full review: Still "Tre Cool" by buster19761976 |
