Disadvantages: It makes her look like a stuck up "superstar"
I'm not sure whether this is the right area to put this so I might have to move it to Spreakers Corner or something but I am so annoyed about it and this was the first area I found to share it with you.
First of all, I do not have anything against the way this band was put together, after all most bands are manufactured to a certain extent. Fiurthermore, after listening to their first single I have got to admit it is OK (not my type of music but OK anyway)
My annoyance stems from a story in the Sun today where Myleene is whinging about Orange using a couple of pictures of her for an advertising campaign.
She is "anxiously" trying to get her hands on what pictures are involved and she is quoted as saying "I'm sick of people trying to use our profile to boost their own!
Her Management team are trying to get them stopped altogether and the band also feel "cheapened" because Orange "will be riding on the back of all their hard work and success"
Now lets get a couple of points straight here;
1. These are not porno photos she had took years ago.
2. They are not photos taken by the papparazi that she didnt know about it.
NO, they are photos she willingly had taken when she was a nothing but a pretty face trying to make a name for herself as a model, AND she will have been paid for these photos and she will have willingly handed over the rights for these photos to be used by the advertising company.
So lets not forget that if she hadnt had the "success" she has had in the last few weeks she would have been absolutely delighted that they were getting used in an advertising campaign by a company which not only has a larger profile than the band will ever have but which will still be around long after Hear'say have been forgotten about.
Her management team also say "The company will be trading on Hear'says image for publi
city they have not paid for" .... I go back to the fact that SHE will have been paid for these.
Finally, her management team are apparently angry that the promotion will coincide with the release of the groups first single, well I'm sorry to wet on their bonfire but the launch date for a campaign like this will have been planned long before Hear'say's final line up was even known, never mind the launch date of their first single.
Phheewww, rant over !!!
