Advantages: They're "hear" to stay - you'd better believe it!

Disadvantages: I hope they don't overload us - like the Spice Girls did.

Reading through the opinions on Britain's latest export, namely "Hear'say", or the "PopStars" band, it looks like dooyooer's are split down the middle.

Just like Stilton cheese, you either like it or you don't. Well after avidly watching each episode of PopStars from the outset, which was as compelling viewing as Big Brother (and with similar parallels, as the departure of Nasty Nick in BB lowered the interest level, so did Darius's departure in PopStars).

However, I do believe the best 5 from the thousands who auditioned really do deserve the limelight. If only like their Big Brother counterparts, that their fame lasts for five minutes, well, its a truly deserved 5 minutes of fame and five minutes more than I will ever get, so good luck to them.

With 3 lovely lasses, with more "sassyness" than the Spice Girls and 2 lads from down the pub the new manufactured band fill a void between Steps and Westlife and will appeal to all, from toddlers (yes, my 2 and a half year old knows some of the dance routine to "Pure and Simple") to teenagers to Dad's (lusting over gorgeous Suzanne) and even trendy Grannies.

"Pure and Simple" was destined to get to number one, launched on the success of the TV programme, it had so much airplay, and as the song title suggests, the song itself is so simple it's effective enough to have you singing it all day after you have heard it on the radio driving to work.

Unlike other manufactured bands, at least they can actually sing, so no-one can criticise them for that and their harmonies are a joy to listen to, Myleene is obviously the one with the talent and drive which will spur the band onto bigger and better things. With the looks of Kym and Suzanne, the trio of girls who can also sing like angels are surely bound to go from strength to strength.

I, like millions of others will dash off and buy their album on t
he day of release, and am looking forward to hearing the band members individual styles and tastes reflected in the new songs (hopefully), unlike Stock, Aitken and Waterman-type manufactured bands where their songs all sound the same.

I hope the band members are very careful and don't jump onto every advertising band wagon going (as with the Spice Girls) and are very careful with their money (unlike Bros and 5 Star!!- bless them!). They deserve every penny - they all have talents which are being used in a productive way - so many people's talents these days are wasted, eg. people with degrees stacking shelves in Sainsbury's.

The creation of this new band will give young children so much ambition and drive ( I know many will be disappointed that they won't make it), but it is great for them to have role models to look up to in the form of Kym, Suzanne, Myleene, Danny and Noel.

Long life Hear'say!!

They can sing and hopefully in time we may get to know if they real personalities and not just the act put on for the show.
