Everyone knows how this group had their claim to fame with about a third of the Country watching Popstars on television. They were the ones singled out as the best five though personally I thought I heard some people out there with better voices. I think that they cannot truly work well together as a group and they should have been tested more like this before they were given the winning votes. Still they are here now and a lot of teenagers seem to like them through the press and television coverage they have had. Still one question remains for me and that is do you think they have the strength to keep things going. It will all seem miraculous to them at the moment but they never had the hard struggles that most singers or groups have had to get their talent recognised. A somewhat easier claim to fame than most.

But is the bubble popping and are things slowing as they are less and less in the publics eye like they were. We will have to wait and see about that as time will tell. This is about their second album everybody named after their recent single. However as the group have just been on tour I found this hard to believe that they could find time to run around the country as well as visit the recording studio without something being amiss. Most artists can spend a year or more making a album and Hearsay have released a debut album done a tour as well as record this in less than a year. Is this a sign of true talent or not well I will let you make your own mind up on that one my friends as personally I do not rate them at all myself. I got this as my partner likes them for some unknown reason and I will tell you what I think of the tracks on the album as unbiased as possible. I always like to listen to the songs as I write about them and try to say if the track has anything that I like or dislike. I prefer dance music myself but I have broad horizons and will happily listen to almost and music as I prefer to withhold judgement till after I have heard som
ething. Saying that I will now give you what I feel about their album.

1 Everybody (Single Edit)

Well this has recently been in the charts so everyone should recognise this track and I would go so far to say that this track is quite good for the group. It is a classic pop style song and is easy to listen to with a sort of tune that your kids will be singing along to. Must say that this is one of the better tracks on this album and is just like the radio version that you would have heard.

1 Suddenly

This track has more of a eighties feel to it and is sung more like something done by Britney Spears, bit like a cross between a love song and a ballad with the lyrics. But the breakbeat style of singing reminds me too much of Britney?s Crazy for me to enjoy this track too much. However it is still quite good and easy listening.

2 We Go On

This is a bit of a mix of different styles with some bits of electronic voicing added similar to Eiffel 65. This however blends ok in this slower track and surprisingly it is not too bad. This track has nothing special about it so it may well make the charts but I doubt that it has the strength to be a hit.

3 Back Down To Zero

Hear we have a song that definatley is like a ballad. An easy going song but could do without the male vocals as I feel they do not fit this track. Would have been better if they had just let the girls do this one, still it is not that bad and is easy listening but if this track had just someone s inging it with a more powerfull female voice this would have been in with a chance of being a chart hit.

4 Play to Win

This has been recorded with a latin Spanish style of tune to it. This does not suit this group whatsoever in my opinion as they just connot truly blend in with the music. For me this track is a bit mediochre and more like just an album filler than anything else. Still it does not totally offend your ears but I do no
t think it is one that you will remember in the future.

5 Angel In My Heart

Another slower ballad. It again is let down by the boys as their voices do not blend well in this style of song. The group seem to try to work together in most of the tracks but I believe that some of these songs would have been better if only one or two members of the group sung them as some have voices that are better suited to this style of song.

6 You're All I Need To Get By

This is a old classic sixities Motown remix and the original was much better. What a horrendous remix of a classic song, the origonal was sung nice and smooth but this sounds like someone trying to sing it in their back room or something. They have destroyed what I think was a good song.

7 Not The End Of The World

More of a pop song again but this is only mediochre at it?s best. This song sounds plain and uneventful which gives it a rushed feel to it. Maybe they are trying to get things done a bit quick while they still have some media hype. I cannot see them lasting too much longer if they keep doing tracks like their last two.

8 Don't Go Believing

Another mix of a pop song and a ballad but it has nothing special to this one. Again the male vocals sound out of place and this track sounds too harsh to me in places. Sounds like they are out of tune or out os sync at times and is one that I would just skip by.

9 Home Again

Once again this track I think would have benefitted by being a solo rather than having the group sing. It has the possibility of being a good song and I just feel that Hearsay have themselves let this track down. Still it is only mediochre and this song will suit some people but it does not have the power to make it one that you will remember in time to come.

10 A Good Thing

This is more like a 80?s style pop song to me. Nothing special here either but the song is not too bad. Not one
that has anything to interest me into listening to it again though.

11 Straight From The Heart

Here is another slow song that could be classed as a love song or a ballad and is again a sort of track that you will not truly listen too. One that you will not pay attention to as it is too plain to grab your attention. Mediochre and a album filler and nothing more.

12 Pure and Simple (New Version)

This track is the new version with the breakbeat style of music to it that they have been singing recently while doing their guest appearances. I think it is worse than the origonal and may be a view on their staying power as they are already doing remixes of a song that was released less than a year ago.

Summary

Well this album does have some good tracks along with the bad. In saying that I feel that if this is how the rest of their music is going to go that will not be around for too much longer. Hooray some people may shout considering that they have in my opinion only got this far because of Popstars and the media hype that followed. Already I feel that they have lost some of the lime light and this album feels rushed to get it out while they still have some following. They need to try to do some work to get their vocals to work more in harmony with each other or start releasing singles without the whole group trying to do their bit as this is letting them down too much. They do not seem to be able to pull things together like groups such as Steps which again makes me feel like they will not have much of a future, so if I was them I would start watching my bank balance and save for the future as if this is the best they have to offer then I will probably say they are losing already. They have only just finished their tour so I was surprised that they even had time to record a second album already which only gives further credance to the fact that they may not be around too much longer and are trying to cash in while the
y can. sTill if you are a fan of theirs like I say there are tracks that you will like on this but I would say that we will have to wait and see about their future.
