Advantages: upbeat, something for everyone

Disadvantages: not long enough!

Hear'say have been one of my favourite bands ever since they were chosen on the popular ITV show "Popstars". Although they have had a lot of unwelcome bad attention from the press, and a lot of people regard them as "manufactered pop" and therefore don't like them, I think this is a bit mistake. Because even if they're not your cup of tea, you cannot dismiss the fact that they are very talented, and this is proved by their new album, "Everybody". It is noticeably different to their first album, "Popstars". I think the band have matured since then, and have tried to aim their second album at an older audience.
The band themselves have co-written some of the songs on "Everybody" which shows, if you know a lot about the band. The first song on the album shares the same title and was released in late November, climbing to No. 4 in the charts. It is more upbeat than their previous singles and so is some of the other material on "Everybody".
Kym Marsh sings a lot of the main vocals and carries them well with her strong, distinctive voice. The two boys also sing quite a bit especially in "Angel In My Heart" and "You Are All I Need To Get By".
The band have used lots of different styles in this album, including slow ballads and upbeat, almost latino songs such as "Play To Win". It also includes a remix of their first number 1 single "Pure And Simple".
I really enjoyed "Everybody" and would definatley recommend it.

It may come as a shock to some of you but there really is nothing wrong with Manufactured pop - its basically the same a rock band auditioning for the best guitarist they can find.

The problem with Hear'say is they have neither the looks or the songs. With the exception of the lovely Welsh Boy Noel I find it hard going to find a trace of star quality in any of them.

I'll be doing a full op of the album over the next couple of weeks so look out for it
