Still, as there hasn’t been a thread dedicated to Betty Boo, it looks as though I’ll have to make do with talking about Jennifer Lopez, or ‘J Lo’ as she now prefers to be called, for a few paragraphs. I actually quite like Jenneifer Lopez. She isn't quite Jeni from the block as she claims as I've read a lot about her being highly demanding in hotels and in shows but then if you had the money and people adoring you - I suppose anyone would?! I think she is rather unique in that she has been bringing out songs for a long time now and still when she brings out a new one, it still sounds very fresh and something you can definately dance to. I find her tunes very individual and she can actually sing which I find is very rare these days. And she can dance. Always a bonus. Jennifer Lopez can do anything right? well not really, and she isn't that good a singer either - in some tracks she is stronger, some she is very noticibly weak. This album took time to grow on me - after the energetic opener "If you ahd my love" the album slows down considerably and turns into very dull driviel. It seems the more energetic tunes work the best, her duet with Marc Anthony works very well, the singles are great "Feeling so good" "waiting for tonight". I first heard of Jennifer Lopez when she released 'If you had my love.' I wasn't aware at that time that she had been an actress first and foremost. The song was catchy and I liked J-Lo's distinctive voice. As she has brought out each single, I have become more and more keen on the singing style she has. Of course, the men like her because she has it all as far as they are concerned - looks, sex appeal and a womanly shape instead of trying to conform to what is supposed to be the norm of trying to be stick thin. Released in the autumn of 1999, this album sold hundreds of thousands and no doubt filled the pockets of one Ms Lopez. One cannot really review this album and say its not poor. Apart from the main two released as singles and a couple of others i would be hard pushed to say anything positive about this album. I really wanted to enjoy it, but it became one long slog of poor songs. With 'Waiting for tonight' and 'If you had my love' as the best songs (and although she looked damned sexy in both video's) this album is very poor because the aformentioned were the most poppy songs and one would expect a much deeper and meaningful non single albums ...  Read the complete review
