At the summer concert last year at my school, a friend and I performed Jimi Hendrix "Voodoo Chile" it was a hit, as everything else there was composed (rather than written) by someone whose body had probably decomposed a hundred years ago. A Jimi Hendrix revival was experienced, and it was so psychadelic it was beautiful. At least five people took up the guitar. Unfortunately "Hey Joe"'s guitar solo was too elusive for all of us. Well, Jimi's aim was acheived with his Shrewsbury House "disciples" so to speak. Jimi Hendrix played the guitar with such poise, talent and mesmerising ability that it just made you want to pick it ... Read the complete review

Experiencing the magic of Big Jimi is something you just have to do before you die. So you think that you're too young to die? Take a lesson from Jimi and don't do it! Most of you out there will have at some point seen Forrest Gump and wondered what the hell that excellent song was while Gump was patroling in Vietnam. Well that my babies was 'All along the Watchtower'. Are you wondering if songs get better than that, well yes they do! Go out now (why are you still here) and buy anything with the name Jimi Hendrix on it. It might help if you like a good dirty bit of the ol' electric guitar. My fav Hendrix song is 'Hey ... Jimi Hendrix was the greatest musician to ever live. It is as simple as that. He has influenced every single musician with an ounce of integrity who has ever heard a single lick he played - especially guitarists. The reason? He didn't play with his head. Hendrix's guitar was hard-wired straight to his heart and that's what made him great. It wasn't his virtuosity, astounding as it was, Hendrix shone because every note wringed from his guitar dripped emotion - it oozed with the pent up feelings the shy man from Seattle wanted to impart to the world. And Hendrix was no fool, carefully watch the many documentaries on this genius of the electric guitar and ... Read the complete review

The great Jimi Hendrix was born in Seattle America, he was known as one of musics most influential figures, he was noted for his guitar playing. He taught himself to play to guitar, and this was very hard for him as he was left handed and he had to play a guitar for a right handed person. Whilst he was serving in the 101st Airborne Division as a paratrooper he met Billy Cox with who he formed "The Kasuals" and they played together as an in service attraction, and later after they had both returned to civilian street. In 1966 he was calling himself Jimmy James, and formed a group at first called the "Rainflowers", he then ... Read the complete review

What can I say about the greatest creative guitarist (is that the term?) to have ever lived? Jimi was the greatest creative guitarist to have ever lived, for a start. his hands were massive, too - the guitar playing equivalent of Muhammed Ali. He did things with a guitar that weren't possible before, and haven't been bettered since. He is the benchmark by which 20th century guitarists, and so far, 21st century guitarists, have been and will be measured. He was a genius, with the talent of a god, and he channelled that ability through the guitar. As such, he will forever remain a legend. ... Read the complete review
