Jimmy Eat World have now got to be one of my favourite bands and it must be the case with more and more people now (which is good), and no wonder, with 3 albums released on major labels and one on indie as well as a split cd and a singles Cd, this band isn't just some pop-punk upstart. To describe the band in a genre setting is impossible, in fact in a video interview (on the bands latest cd bleed american-now self titled) when asked front man Jim just says "We're just a rock band" which is such a huge generalisation of their music. Their first major release was 'Static Prevails' on capitol records, produced by Mark Trombino who has ... Read the complete review

Jimmy Eat World are a brilliant band under the catagory of emo. This means kind of punk-rock music, maybe slow, with emotional and touching lyrics about true to life things, sometimes very personal. They set a very high standard for this as they are so talented and now new and upcoming bands like Taking Back Sunday (who rule by the way) and BrandNew (one of my favourite bands at the moment) have them as sort of role models. I haven't heard very much of Jimmy Eat World's material really though I own a few of their latest albums and think they're really amazing and powerful, particually the selftitled 2001 release. This features the single which some ... Read the complete review

Jimmy Eat World the fastest rising and most loved emo band in the world today, just played a concert in my home town of Manchester, and guess who was there. Me. As you've probably realised this opinion is going to be about the concert, and not Jimmy Eat World in general. The concert took place on a cold and wet Sunday night, at one of the medium sized venues in Manchester, the Academy. I got there just in time to catch the beginning of the support acts set. I missed their name, and to be honest wished i'd missed their set. They were from where i was stood, middle aged balding men,not that theres anything wrong with middle aged balding men, but they ... Jimmy Eat World, where do I start really they are so brilliant! You may not know that so I?m here to tell you why there are so good. The band I would class in the same sort of area as bands like American Hi-Fi, Blink 182 etc. the sort of punky/rock style but they have something about them that makes them above all the rest, their style is much more complicated than lots of others and through the music you can tell that they have put more into it, you could almost say the songs have a lot of feeling. The band are now becoming very popular which I am very happy about I just hope they don?t lose the touch with their fame and make us a just as fantastic follow ... Read the complete review

Arizona's emo-rockers started out as a Metallica covers band, and what better grounding is there than that? Jimmy have been a well-kept secret in the UK until recently, and this self-titles masterpiece is a fine introduction to their work. Get it now and get that t-shirt faded, because this time next year everyone will be wearing them! Jimmy Eat World! Jimmy Eat World! Jimmy Eat World! Jimmy Eat World! Jimmy Eat World! Jimmy Eat World!
