First off the title - I have a good knack of doing one thing at every concert I go to - no matter where I stand the really tall (even taller than me) person will stand in front of me - this time I got Herman Munster's evil twin first time and then when I decided to switch to the other side of the crowd to get a better view (and to be with the severely cute girl who thought I was Irish) - it was Marge Simpson's sister - you know - the one with the bigger hair? JJ72 - Manchester MDH - 14.10.00 The Irish trio have come a long way since I last saw them, but then again I knew from that moment they were destined for great things. When JJ72 supported the Dandy Warhols it was clearly a typo that put them in the support slot because when I asked a selection of cats, 9 out of 10 preferred JJ72. The Dandy's were lumpen, stodgy and a bit stale whereas JJ72's blend of fresh exciting music was too much to resist. Playing tonight at the MDH its surely the next in a step of increasing capacity venue's until they reach the Arena. 13 Thirteen, not so much warm things up but more give them a quick hug before the main act. ... Belfast Limelight 2 December 2001 This was the third time I'd seen JJ72 and it was the best performance I've seen them give so far. Their live performances are so far removed from the album, everything is so much more raw and agressive and passionate, you just forget about everything and concentrate entirely on the music. I arrived at the Limelight about 15 minutes before the doors opened, and handily for me met some friends at the top of the queue, so I didn't have to join the already considerable length.
