Joan Baez is an American singer born in 1941. She is known for both her lyrics, her great voice, and her political campaigns. She was one of the most vocal and active artists against the Vietnam war in the USA.

Many people associate her to Bob Dylan, with whom she shared many campaigns, and also a bit of personal live. Although most of her songs are labelled as folk songs, she played gospel, rock and pop songs as well.

Not only she played and sang her own song, but also songs of other singers, and here the list is long, but surely we should remember the names of Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and the Rolling Stones.

Her voice is beautiful and she can sing n many languages. She has been campaigning anti war, for the rights of gays and lesbian, against poverty and the death penalty. As far as her personal life, Bob Dylan was one of her boyfriends. It is said that Bob was actually more interested in Joan'sister, but was captivated by her musical skills. This was at the beginning of the sisxties. I recommend the songs of Joan Baez to everyone, although some of them are a bit sad at times.
