I was only one when news filtered through that john lennon had become a legend. I write this opinion as a 23 year old lover of everything lennonish.

You really cannot complain about lennons influence on music. As a beatle he wrote about love and as a solo artist he sang about peace.

There are over two hundred beatles songs and 17 went to number one and made about 25 albums (I am sorry I cant remember the exact number)

As a solo artist he made over 100 songs and made 10 albums (again I own all the albums and cant remember the exact number) Two songs went to number one. Imagine in 1971 and again in 1980 after his death.

He also had a number one with elton john called what ever gets you through the night. This song going to number one lost john lennon a bet in that had to sing live with elton john in new york this was in 1975 and lennon had not sung live in five years. they sang three song what ever gets you through the night, lucy in the sky with dimonds and I saw her standing there. I have it on cd and believe me It is brilliant.

Whether your ten or a hundred you will know a lennon song. He had a distinctive singing voice and he could take a few words and write a song that would last a lifetime.

I love the late beatles work and the early lennon work. My favourite lennon album is "live in new york city" On this album he sings the song "new york city", which is the first lennon song that I ever heard. he also sings the beatles song "come together". Live in new york city is recorded at madison square gardens in 1975.

I perfer lennon when He was singing live. It is such a shame that there are only two albums available that capture his unique talent and It was rumoured that in 1981 john lennon was to be embarking on a world tour. its such a shame that he never got to sing live again.

I believe that If lennon had still been alive today he would still be knocking out som
e of the most unbelievable music of this time.

all throughout his short but very meaningful life lennon touched everyones life and its hard to believe that someone who believed in peace could die at the hards of a gunman.

although he is gone, we should be thankful for the legacy of songs, films and photographs and for those very luck people who were very lucky to meet him. those memories that we can tell future generations that there was someone who trully was a legend. This is the way that the name john lennon will never ever be forgotten.
