Advantages: -music no-one can hate, long playing CDs, plenty more to stock up on
Disadvantages: -may put your guests to sleep
A few years ago someone gave me a compilation album called the 'Rebirth of Cool Phive' - one of a series of mixed artist collections from the chill out section. I loved everything on this album so much that I decided it was an ideal way of expanding my entire music collection without taking too much of a risk. One by one, I bought an album from each of the bands on the rebirth of cool compilation. All, of course had a similar chilled out vibe to their music that hit the spot with my musical taste. But, by far the best find was trying out some more from a duo called Kruder and Dorfmeister. They are a team of two DJs who sample other less well known tunes and background ambient sounds, then mix them with their own synthesised music. The result is heaven to the eardrum! Soothing beach rhythms and deep base backing are the recipe for one hell of a relaxation session. There are quite a few albums out with the Kruder and Dorfmeister touch - sometimes mixed by just one of the pair but mostly as a team effort. I have about five of them and there was only one I didn't take to - as it was more upbeat than the rest (sorry, can't remember the title). Needless to say though, I would recommend almost any one of them to try. I simply can't imagine anyone hating this music - it's just so easy to play. My current favourites are DJ kicks (the one with the two guys on the cover and a greenish background) and Peace Orchestra by Peter Kruder (plain beige cover with a sticky plaster on the front). Put it on as background music for a dinner party or to lull you to sleep at night. Either way - you'll never regret this buy. Go on - I dare ya!
