Advantages: good band

Disadvantages: not famous enough outside belgium

K's Choice is a Belgian band from Antwerp. They've been in the music industry for a very long time in continental Europe. They have yet to be popular in the UK.

This is why I put my title as "The dormant Giant". Once K's Choice are more popular in the UK, they will probably reach the number one spot in the charts. They have songs like Travis and such bands.

The band is made up of a lead singer and guitarist (Sarah Bettens), guitar and backing vocals (Gert Bettens), guitarist (Jan van Sichem Jr.), bass guitarist (Eric Grossman) and drum and percussionist (Koen Liekens).

The band has released four CDs now. In order of release, they are: "The Great Subconscious Club", "Paradise In Me", "Cocoon Crash" and "Almost Happy".

I think that the first CD they released was not very good. They were all still young and unexperienced. I do not like any songs from their first CD. By the time they released their second CD, they had more experience and knew what the belgian people liked about them. "Not An Addict" went straight to number one when it got released. That's when K's Choice became really famous in belgium.

Their fame grew with the release of their third album. Which I think is their best album. Their single "Believe" went straight to number one in belgium and holland. Which made K's Choice famous outside belgium. Not long after that they released "Everything For Free" and this was also a huge hit for the band. By then, K's Choice was on everyone's lips and they were considered as the best band from Belgium.

Unfortunatly for the band, their fame did not reach the UK yet. They have released their CD in the UK as an import, but it is really expensive and it is understandable that not many people will buy a CD of a band they never heard of.

I have yet to see K's Choice play live, but t
hey have been playing in belgian gigs. The most famous one is Pukkelpop in Hasselt. They have also played in Wrechter and this summer (july 2001) they are playing in Zeebrugge with other bands like Manic Street Preachers. K's Choice have toured a lot in Germany and Austria.

I like K's Choice music. It's really relaxing and easy to listen to. Some of the lyrics are funny but most are serious.
