Country singing just took on a whole new image! It was during the year of 1995 that the world of country singing took a total makeover when the voice of world famous, multi chart topping singer LeAnn Rimes first touched the nations with her first debut album entitled "Blue" which hit no.3 in the pop charts, and even managed to grab a nomination for the "Country Music Assosiation Awards" (which you and I could only dream of getting).

Born August 28th, 1982 in Mississipi, LeAnn Rimes was raised in Dallas as a country girl and began singing at the early age of just two! Supported by her loving parents Wilbur and Belinda, she touched audiences with her singing performance of "Getting to Know You", and at the same time winning her first competition all at the amazing age of 5.

Wilbur and Belinda recognised this as a gift and so moved to Texas whilst she was 6 to persue her dream of reaching stardom, where she auditioned unsuccesfully for a part in Annie 2.
She didn't give up though, as at the age of 7 she was finally landed with the part of Tiny Tim in the musical production of "A Christmas Carol". This gave her a huge headstart towards fame, as she then went on to hold 2 week champion in the television programme "Star Search" att he age of 8.

From that point forward LeAnn recorded many more songs of her own, topping charts around the world. Songs of huge popularity include "Unchained Melody", "You Light up my Life", "Can't Fight the Moonlight" and "How do I live". Each gave Miss Rimes a new segment of her childhood dreams.

Many highlights in her carear include appearing in the film "Coyote Ugly", whilst also recording the soundtrack. Up to now where she recently performed in front of the world at the "Winter Olympic Games 2002" opening ceremony at Salt Lake City.

If there's one thing LeAnn's songs
cannot be called it's lifeless and dull. Each and every song fills your head with love and emotion. With such a powerful voice for a young artist, it's no wonder her family recognised the true talent she had hidden within.
