As you by now should have come to expect, this is a Kravitz album that kicks off with a bang and rarely settles down to anything less than good, honest funk-rock music. Gone are the days when he based his music around balladic longing, and guitar-led retro is the way ahead. Even so, it's a mixed offering. While Lenny is fairly straightforward in genre, there are a number of inspirations in evidence. Unusual suspects such as Blondie, Massive Attack and perhaps even R Kelly are all paid homage to, if indirectly. I have downloaded several interviews made with Lenny Kravitz. From what I heard, he is a truly caring and loving person. At First I thought he was a tough guy and he didnt care about anything but after hearing these "Question and Answer" clips he seems to be a good person. He writes his music from the heart and he writes about a feeling he has. His aim is to send a message to the listener so he can probably learn.
