I wondered if they were all as excited as me, my breath stolen away and my face taken over by a smile, especially at the sight of Mike Shinoda, the multi-talented, gorgeous half Japanese man who still makes me smile foolishly like a teenage girl (probably because I am so I can still get away with it but I still plan to have secret pictures of him in my 30s..). I was stuck behind two teenage ...more

Premium Review Linkin Park - Live: Live? Neutral... ;) (611 words)

I first saw Linkin Park live when I went to the Deftones gig back on the 24th March 2001. I waited through Taproot (who were, it has to be said, very good), to see Linkin Park. Having bought their album previously, and listened to all 37 minutes of it (not long for an album I konw - but there was not one single bad track on it, except possibly Cure For The Itch!), I was expecting a lot of these guys. Even though they were new, just starting out etc., I expected a lot. They came on after an introduction from a stage bloke, and started playing immediately. This surprised me, because usually, the band introduce themselves, or say hello, and thank the band who ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Linkin Park Headlining Download '07 (627 words)

I became a fan of Linkin Park just as 'Minutes To Midnight' was released (having already heard the previous albums) and became an immediate member of LPU (their official fan club..) and the next thing I knew I was going to see them at Download '07... DOWNLOAD '07: ************* During July of 2007 I wasn't quite as 'Emo' looking as I am now told I am, so I didn't quite fit in at the festival but that didn't matter because I was only there for one reason anyway, Linkin Park. I went only for the Saturday as this was the day my beloved band was headlining. I had to wait around 9 hours to see them, time filled with boredom, a cheerful interlude of ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Linkin Park - Live: Linkin Park live at Milton Keynes UK (305 words)

Linkin Park have been my favourite band now for many years and I have always wanted to see them live. Last time they toured the UK I was heavily pregnant so wasn't able to attend. When I heard the annoucement they were to do a one off gig in Milton Keynes in June 07 I was so excited. Not only is MK just down the road from me they were going to collaborate with Jay-Z who is also one of my favourite artists. The concert was at the Milton Keynes bowl which I have been to numerous times before so I knew what to expect. There were about 5 different acts on before Linkin Park. When Linkin Park came on stage the atmosphere in the bowl was brilliant. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review One of the best gigs I've been to. (263 words)

I've been a Linkin Park fan for quite a few years now. I remember getting their debut album 'Hybrid Theory' back in 2000. Unfortuneatley I missed out on getting tickets to see them support The Deftones in 2001. A few years on I got tickets to see them as part of their own 'Projekt Revolution' tour at the Milton Keynes Bowl, which was almost a mini festival, there were 7 acts in one afternoon, which led to being a very long afternoon, but there was no doubt about it the wait for the headlining act was well worth it! Linkin Park eventually came on stage at around 9pm, and continued to play until 1045! One thing that I was very wary of Chesters (lead singer) ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Linkin Park - Live: Live in Texas DVD (710 words)

People?s opinions of Linkin Park are bound to be divided. After Limp Bizkit opened nu-metal to a wider commercial market, Linkin Park were certainly one of the first bands to capitalise. Some see them as a sell out (boy band with nu-metal trappings), while others no doubt like them for much the same reason! I think Hybrid Theory was a great debut album, setting Linkin Park ahead of their peers and deservedly selling bucket loads. My cynical side says they?re milking it a little though. Over six million sales of the long awaited follow-up Meteora, yet they?ve still felt the need for a remix album and now live CD/DVD package in that time? Still Live In Texas ...  Read the complete review
