Martina McBride

I am a huge Martina Mcbride fan and have all of her albums except her debut 'The Time has come'. I wish so much I had bought it when I was on holiday in Florida. I can draw solace though from the inclusion of 4 tracks off that album on her follow up 'The way that I am'. This is probably my favourite and the one that brought her huge smash hits with 'My Baby Loves me' and Independednce Day'. My personal favourites are 'She ain't seen nothin' yet' and 'strangers'. I first saw Martina McBride on Country Music Television a few years ago. The song and video I saw was 'Independence Day', a very heartfelt and powerful song about domestic violence. The thing that made it so effective was the point of view, it was told through the daughter's eyes. It told the tale of a mother living with a drunken husband, and how everybody around her looks the other way. The mother takes control of the situation.
