Advantages: relaxes you, will send you to sleep after a hard day
Disadvantages: not long enough
I first heard of Mike Oldfield when I my brother brought, "Sounds of Distant Earth". This is such a relaxing CD, I went out and brought it the next day! I have found out since then that Mike Oldfield wrote numerous songs like; Tubular bells, the infamous theme tune to The Exorcist. Killing Fields, the theme music to The Killing Fields Moonlight shadow Sentinel and many more. I found that I had heard many of his recordings without knowing who he is. Sounds of Distant Earth is very relaxing, easy listening music. Is very flowing but still has a defiant beat and rhythm. There is no break between each section, its just flows into each other. Like the album says, "Sounds of distant earth", you can feel the rhythm of life though the music itself. If you listen to it you can feel yourself growing, breathing, relaxing and becoming one with it. It sound very new age but honestly if you have had a hard day at work, with the kids or just life is getting you down, stick this CD on, sit down and R.. E... L.. A... X........ It will soon drift all the hectic life, worry and stress away from you. I find it very good to listen to it in a darkened room, either with candles or a low side lamp. This one of his more relaxing CDs but he has released: Tubular Bells Incantations Crisis Elements The Killing Fields and many more, he's been around since 1973! I also brought Element which is a mixture of his stuff, but if you like Robert Miles of The Pure Moods Collection you'll defiantly love "Sounds of Distant Earth
