I was 8 years old when I noticed that the kids who played in the school orchestra had a tendency to miss Friday afternoon lessons. As with almost any other 8 year old, this had a certain appeal to it and I swiftly made enquiries as to how I could join their esteemed ranks. The answer came that I must first learn to play an instrument. With scant thought for what this might involve outside of Friday orchestral practice, I signed my name on the metaphorical line and committed myself to 11 years of... now 'hard labour' has a poetic ring to it but although there were certainly periods of intensive work, the overall experience was more akin to enlightenment rather than imprisonment.

First off, where you from? You say you started learning English after everyone else, so where you from? You Cornish or Scottish or something?
Secondly, I read that children that play instruments have much higher success in math and science. Obviously I don't play any instrument besides the skin flute.

Hello you who never writes ops anymore :( I hope you start writing again soon, I really miss your stuff. Although this is actually something of yours I haven't read before so I guess I should stop moaning.

I always wanted to be musical myself. I did try, I learnt the piano for about 10 years, and the violin and the clarinet. But I don't have any natural talent and am apparantly tone deaf (so I've been told) so I never got very far. It must be such a wonderful feeling to play in an orchestra in front of loads of people. And it's great to be so passionate about something.
