I did it. I admit it. I downloaded a lot of songs from Napster and listened to them a lot. It brought back memories from my childhood. There were songs that I hadn't heard in years that I remembered, looked for, and found. I wouldn't have wanted the entire album, but for just that song, you bet.

Then again, there were the ablums that came out from artists I love...U2, Bob Seger, the Armegeddon score....that I wanted to get a taste of before I put the money down for the whole thing. So, I downloaded a few of the songs. It worked well. I bought a few albums, and didn't spend the money on others.

However, that didn't make any of it legal. Have you ever watched one of those shows that talks about shows like M*A*S*H and how the actors that spent so many years playing a part aren't getting anything now that the show's played every hour on cable tv? Doesn't sound very fair, does it.

It's the same thing with music. If you get VH1, the cable music program, they have a segment called, "Where Are They Now?" which seeks out the one-hit-wonders of the music business and finds what they're doing. I'll bet they're wishing they could get paid for all the music that's stil being passed around that they did.

Do I wish Napster still ran the way it did before? Heck yeah. Who wouldn't. Is it right that it's not running that way. Yes, unfortunately, it is.
