Nirvana were a grunge band from Aberdeen, Washington that were formed in 1987 by frontman Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic.

Bleach was the first studio album released by Nirvana and didnt't do very well peaking at 65th in the US album chart and only selling 30,000 copies. However, when Nevermind was released and became a massive success, bleach sold a lot more copies after fans discovered the Nirvana's debut album. Nevermind was released in 1991 and was very successful soaring to the top of the album charts. Smells Like Teen Spirit was the first single to be released off the album and was top of the Billboard Hot Modern Rock Tracks and has since been hailed as one of the greatest ever rock songs. In Utero was the final album to be released but wasn't particularly successful. In 1994 lead singer Kurt Cobain tragically committed suicide which was the end of Nirvana.
