The members of the original N.W.A (Niggaz with attitude) were Dr. Dre (Andre Young), Ice Cube (O'Shea Jackson), M.C. Ren, DJ Yella (Antoinne Carraby) and the late MC Eazy-E (Eric Wright)(who died in 1995 of complications from AIDS.) N.W.A was founded in 1986 by both Dr. Dre and Eazy-E, it was Dr. Dre who had the people to join but they needed Eazy-E who was supplying the money as well as rapping, he was a former drug dealer who started up ruthless records from the money he made, the business really picked when Dre (formerley of the World Class Reckin' Cru) joined. For those who can adhere Eazy E’s whining for more than a couple of hours then this is a good album to buy. Produced by, the previously famous Ruthless records, the album is a compilation of not Eazy E going solo, but the NWA tunes in which Eazy sung. Ruthless records produced some other great albums including another album I have rated, NWA – Greatest Hits. Ruthless Records produced albums for a lot of gangsta rap artists and have a produced a good album here with Eazy. The NWA is the most legendary rap group to date. The founding members namely Dr DRE and the now deceased EAZY-E were seen as some to be revolutionary in their rap styles. DRE has two top selling albums the CHRONIC (1992) and his newest 2001 (1999), both of which happily support the view that he is the greatest rapper of all time. The rest of the NWA was made up of ICE CUBE MC REN and YELLA and together they brought us hit after hit in their own styles. Gangster rap has taken off in the U.K and i'm still trying to decide whether it is good or crap. The NWA is the most legendary rap group to date. The NWA is no more a group but their image and views live on. The group which has produced some of the best rap talents for a long time, such as Dre and Tupac, deserves much more credit than they receive at the moment or have ever received. Around Christmas there was talk of a comeback complete with Snoop Dogg and Eminem but as that hasn't happened their old albums are all that remain. If you love rap of any sort this is diffinately the band for you.
